HOW THE MULCH KING ALL STARTED…

Founder and owner Andrew Nycz founded The Mulch King in 2017 as a place where residents and businesses could drop off leaves, brush and grass. He learned everything he needed to make this business come to life through taking classes and studying programs online. He has friends who have similar facilities and have been very helpful in helping Andrew gain the needed knowledge and experience. After finishing his education, Andrew purchased two parcels of land in Bedford Township that totaled to 24 acres with the largest parcel zoned for a business. In addition to starting The Mulch King, Andrew moved his already active Toledo business to the Bedford area and he eventually will build a house on the other parcel where he and his wife Jody would live. They currently live in West Toledo with their dogs, fish, frogs, turtles and squirrel!

In 2018, they started expanding toward the back of the property and selling only a couple different types of mulch and topsoil.

In 2019, The Mulch King was fully operational with a wide inventory of materials to sell. They made their prices much more affordable than other competitive businesses.

The biggest selling product at The Mulch King is of course Mulch! Their Mulch has a wide selection of colors and grinding textures including: black, brown and red as well as adding all dye free Natural Mulch and State Certified Playground Mulch. Their most popular color is triple black. Why? Because it is a high quality product that doesn’t mold or fade and lasts longer. Their Premium Screened Topsoil is the second most selling product. They carry Compost and #2 Topsoil that is 100% screened. Over time, they started selling Fill Dirt, Sand, River Rock, Limestone, Pea Gravel, County Mix, Screenings, Wood Chips, Garden and Play Chips, Asphalt Millings, Animal Bedding, Firewood and Kindling. They enjoy being able to work outside and getting to know all their customers personally.
